Terms & conditions
Last updated 24 May 2026
Little Oven is a small home-baking business run by Nilam in Eversley, near Basingstoke. These terms explain how ordering works. By placing an order you agree to them. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Ordering and confirmation
Placing an order is a request, not a confirmed booking. Because every cake is made by hand to order, I confirm I can make your cake on your chosen date before your order is final. You’ll receive an email confirmation once it’s booked in.
2. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include the cake as described. Payment is taken securely online through Stripe; I never see or store your card details. For most cakes full payment is taken at checkout.
3. Deposits on larger orders
For bespoke, tiered or higher-value cakes I may ask for a non-refundable deposit to secure your date, with the balance due before collection or delivery. The deposit covers the time set aside and ingredients ordered specially for you, and I’ll always tell you the amount before you commit.
4. Changes and cancellation
Please tell me as early as you can if you need to change or cancel an order. Small changes are usually fine if there’s enough time. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice (or after I’ve started baking or bought special ingredients) may not be refundable, as the work and costs can’t be recovered.
5. Delivery, collection and storage
Your cake leaves my kitchen in perfect condition. Once it’s collected or delivered, how it’s kept is in your hands. Cakes are sensitive to heat: keep buttercream cakes cool and out of direct sun, and refrigerate fresh-cream cakes immediately. I can’t be responsible for damage, melting or spoiling caused by transport, weather or storage after the cake has left me or been handed over.
For postal orders I pack cakes carefully in an insulated box and dispatch early in the week, but I can’t control courier handling or delays once the parcel is collected.
6. Allergens
All cakes are made in a home kitchen that also handles nuts, dairy, eggs and gluten, so I can’t guarantee any cake is free from a given allergen. Please read the allergens page and the per-product allergen list, and tell me about any allergy when you order.
7. Photographs
Cakes are handmade, so small natural variations are part of their charm; your cake may differ slightly from the photographs. I may photograph finished cakes for my own portfolio and Instagram — let me know if you’d rather I didn’t.
8. Getting in touch
